ASSAULT ON THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE AND THE RIGHT TO KNOW THE TRUTH
Mario Cornejo works in the morgue, typing out the reports of the autopsies carried out by the medical examiners. In the days of the Chilean coup d’état in 1973, he has an affair with his neighbour Nancy, a cabaret dancer at the Bim Bam Bum, who disappears on September 11. Following a violent search of her house by the Army, he learns that they have arrested her brother and father, a staunch Communist and supporter of Salvador Allende.
Third feature from the Chilean Pablo Larraín, maker of Fuga (2005) and Tony Manero (2008), presented at the last Venice Festival.
